Sewa Beats offers team-building experiences which are extraordinary 'ice breakers'. These high energy drumming workshops rapidly establish a strong sense of team and unity. Participants create a piece of music together, in a very short time producing a real feeling of group and personal achievement. These sessions are normally used to top and/or tail a conference or to break up a team-away day. They often combine drumming with singing and will stimulate, challenge and bring together groups of all sizes and backgrounds.

Sewa Beats inspires participants to identify and develop their skills - individually and as a group - in the following areas:

  • Non-verbal communication

The rhythms of African drumming encourage participants to explore new ways of communicating with each other.
  • Teamwork under pressure

By working together and learning to play on each other's talents, participants can sharpen their information-filtering skills.
  • Breaking down hierarchies

Participants are momentarily empowered to break down internal structural barriers and learn how to understand and appreciate other people's roles.
  • Peak individual performance

Participants gradually realise that the silence between drum beats is as important as the beats themselves and begin to appreciate the power of being as opposed to doing, enabling them to explore uncharted territory.
  • Group success

Individual creativity takes a backseat as active listening and enthusiastic participation come to the fore.

Sewa Beats will energise and motivate participants and make them receptive to the chosen message. These programmes are particularly effective during long events when participants need to be kept engaged, or for opening or closing events on an upbeat note.
